Terms of use
These terms govern use of HelderCut, including the website, dashboard and API. They apply from 2026-09-18.
1. Supplier and ownership
HelderCut is supplied by HelderStack (Pty) Ltd, registration 2025/373269/07, 20 Briza Street, Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa. Contact [email protected] for service, commercial or legal enquiries. The software, source code, branding and related intellectual property belong to HelderStack or their respective licensors. Your workshop retains rights in the data and cutting lists it provides.
2. Accounts and authorised use
You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the organisation you register. Provide accurate details, keep credentials confidential and manage team access responsibly. Do not access other workspaces, interfere with the service, bypass limits, redistribute API credentials publicly, or submit unlawful content. We may proportionately restrict access to protect users or investigate misuse, subject to applicable law.
3. Cutting plans and limitations
HelderCut generates board layouts from the board dimensions, grain direction, requested panels and cutting settings you supply. It searches for useful layouts but does not promise the globally best arrangement. Some panels may remain unplaced and are clearly identified. Nesting mode does not guarantee a panel-saw cutting sequence.
You must check measurements, units, grain, blade width, trim, machining allowances, material suitability, cutting order and equipment instructions before production. A layout is planning assistance, not a machine safety instruction. The service calculates the boards required for a layout. It does not track inventory; you are responsible for obtaining enough suitable boards.
4. Free launch and sandbox credits
During launch, the published free plan permits up to 5 stock sizes, 20 panel sizes and 500 total panels per list. Free includes one workshop owner. Team access and API integration require Pro, whose pricing will be announced before paid access becomes available. API request limits protect service availability. The service is not an unlimited computing or file-storage service.
Current PayFast checkout is sandbox-only. Displayed package amounts are simulated totals in South African rand. Sandbox credits have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed for money, do not unlock extra features and are not consumed by free optimizations. Do not make a live payment for them.
Any future live pricing, taxes, payment terms, delivery conditions, credit validity and refund terms will be disclosed before an order is placed. A paid contract will require an opportunity to review and correct the order. No subscription or recurring debit is created by a sandbox checkout. We will give appropriate notice before material changes to the free offering; you can export your saved plans.
5. Service, cancellation and consumer rights
Access depends on service availability and your connection. We may maintain or update the service and will take reasonable steps to address material defects. You may stop using it and request account closure through your Account page or support. Keep copies of work you need.
Nothing in these terms excludes a mandatory right or remedy under the Consumer Protection Act, Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, POPIA or other applicable South African law. Where cooling-off, cancellation, quality, refund or other consumer rights apply, they remain available. We do not exclude responsibility for fraud, gross negligence or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. No blanket “no refunds” condition applies.
6. Confidentiality, privacy and integrations
We use your data to provide and protect the service as described in the Dashboard Privacy Policy. Do not include unnecessary personal or confidential third-party information in panel labels or notes. You are responsible for authorising your integrations and protecting files after downloading them. We do not grant public access to your cutting plans merely because you use the API.
7. Changes, complaints and law
We may update terms when the service or law changes. The current version will remain available, with appropriate notice for material changes. Contact support to raise a complaint or dispute. These terms are governed by South African law, without removing any mandatory forum or remedy available to you.
