This notice covers the public HelderCut website. Account registration, workshop use and the API are described in our Dashboard Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible
HelderCut is owned and operated by HelderStack (Pty) Ltd, registration 2025/373269/07, at 20 Briza Street, Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa. We are the responsible party for website and account administration information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect and why
Our web service may process your network address, requested pages, request time and technical error information to deliver and protect the site. If you email us, we receive your email address, name and whatever information you include. We use this to answer you, manage the relationship and handle relevant business records. Avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Ordinary website use does not require an account. Sending an enquiry is voluntary; we need a contact address to reply. Processing is based on steps at your request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, and applicable legal duties.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential session and form-security cookies where needed. HelderCut does not currently load advertising trackers or optional analytics. Session cookies support sign-in and expire according to the account session period. A form-security cookie can remain for up to one year. Clearing or blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or form submission.
Recipients, security and transfers
Authorised personnel, hosting, backup and email providers, and advisers or authorities where legally permitted may receive relevant information. We do not sell personal information. Providers must act under appropriate confidentiality, security and processing arrangements. Some cloud or email processing may take place outside South Africa, subject to a lawful transfer ground and safeguards under POPIA section 72.
We apply access controls and reasonable security safeguards. No service can promise absolute security. Suspected compromises are investigated and affected people and the Information Regulator are notified where POPIA requires this.
Retention and rights
We retain information only for as long as needed for its stated purpose, lawful business records, security, disputes or applicable legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it, subject to justified holds and backup expiry. You may request access, correction or lawful deletion, object where permitted, withdraw consent where it is the processing basis, or complain to the Information Regulator.
The site and service are intended for adults. Do not submit children's or special personal information. We do not use website enquiries for unsolicited direct marketing.
